Producer Sheep Technology Group

The Producer technology group is to meet four times over a two year period (starting August 2020) to help farmers set goals, view and trial livestock technology and implement a technology plan. The program is tailored to meet individual producer’s business goals and key areas of interest.

The Red Meat and Wool Growth Program is an initiative of PIRSA and supported by Meat and Livestock Australia, SA Sheep and Cattle Funds and Sheep Connect SA.

Sentinel 8 (insect sampler) will monitor & report the presence of cereal and pulse pests at this site in the mid-North High Rainfall Zone at Riverton in South Australia. During this trial, we’ll be comparing our observations to Sentinel 1, located at the same site. We’ll also be sharing information through PIRSA newsletter, SA PestFacts.

Automated weather stations can be located remotely to sense a vast range of weather attributes and provide live data feeds of current conditions to assist in making decision relating to crop nutrition, crop protection product application as well as logging data for historical analysis.
